Ottawa Automotive Engineering Ltd (OAE) is a Canadian-Indian joint venture company specialized in automotive parts designing, prototyping, testing, manufacturing and assembly. OAE is currently working on R&D and Commercialization project for light weight Automotive Components using aluminium and steel die casting. Aluminum it is lighter than steel and helps achieve fuel saving and efficiency as weight is the primary driving factor. OAE also combines Aluminium, Steel with Magnesium & other light weight technologies in the development of the automotive components to reduce the manufacturing costs. Our current Technology Readiness Level Scale (TRL) for light weight Automotive Components is level 3; meaning, Active R&D has already been initiated since April 30, 2018. The levels 7 and 8 are planned for the year 2020 in Canada with selected automakers. The year 2021 will be dedicated for the actual application of the product and/or process innovation in its final form or function, followed by the manufacturing and commercialization. OAE also conducts other projects on Plug-in-Hybrid Vehicles (PHEV) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) with the financial support of Natural Resources Canada; this program was delivered by Eco Canada to hire new graduates in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering field for internship and COOP Program in Ottawa and Montreal..
